Remember, You’re Water
You’ll never run out of things to fall in love with in Bicol. The fiery dishes, genteel culture, and of course…

…choices upon choices of secluded, virtually untouched beaches.

I’ve been to Bagasbas beach only once, more than a year ago. When I found out that I had the chance to visit it again last week, I made sure that I opened up myself to the place’s every detail. I woke up at 6AM, and took a good morning sprint along the surf town’s boardwalk, which prompted me to relish my hearty breakfast even more.

As I sat there, and took it all in, the wild flowers that were thriving in the shore caught my eye. If they could survive the harshest conditions—sand, ruthless sunlight, overarching waves—then we could most definitely do it, too.

We are water ourselves, fluid and resilient. Thank you, Bicol, for making me remember this.
